Our office is always looking for ways to involve young people in our work. We want young people to be a part of what we do. We want to hear their concerns, discuss their ideas and share their thoughts with decision makers. Ideally, we want children and youth to participate in our office so that:
their perspectives are included in discussions and decisions about them
they own solutions to matters that affect them
they learn new skills and gain confidence in advocating for themselves
our office, decision-makers and other adults become open to their perspectives
society develops a wider acceptance of children and youth as active citizens
We work with youth in several ways. These include:
engaging with established Nunavut and Inuit youth organizations
seeking feedback from all children and youth who access our office
promoting summer youth employment in our office
seeking input from youth in the production of our office materials
