An advocate is someone who listens to what you need and want and provides support when others are making decisions about you. An advocate’s support can be especially helpful when it comes to issues that involve government.
You might want a child advocate’s help if:
- you want to know what your rights are,
- you have a concern but don’t know how to bring it up with a government worker,
- you worry a government worker won't take your opinion seriously,
- you need help finding the government program or service that can best support you.
