RCY Staff Visit the Office of the Child and Youth Advocate in Alberta

RCY team with Del Graff (centre), Alberta Child and Youth Advocate

In January 2017, RCY staff members Lynn Matte, Katie Didham, Nancy Pellerin, and David Korgak visited the Office of the Child and Youth Advocate (OCYA) in Edmonton, Alberta. The purpose of the visit was to assist our team in building its systemic and investigative knowledge base and capacity. Developing these areas of our work are key priorities for the RCY office over the upcoming years.

During the visit, the RCY team had an opportunity to meet with many of the OCYA’s staff in various program areas, including: Investigations and Legal Representation; Advocacy Services; Systemic Advocacy, Evaluation and Research; and Engagement and Education.

The warm welcome and the generous exchange of information and expertise was greatly appreciated by the RCY team. We look forward to continuing to build our professional relationship and friendships with our colleagues in Alberta.
